Welcome Back to 2018

This picture was my favorite photo of the year because it reminds me a lot of Stranger Things, which is my favorite show. I also like how the scene is mostly cool colors, but the subject is very warm and vibrant.

I like this photo because to me it looks very powerful. Having most of the people facing the camera and then the one person with a gun face the opposite direction is a cool aspect and creates a feeling like she is speaking out to them.

I like this picture because it is funny to me how goats climb up in trees instead of just eating off the low bushes around them. The goats stand out because they are a different color than the scenery, which makes it easy for the eye to find the subject.

1.
I think that the best song of 2017 was Shape Of You by Ed Sheehan, or in general, the entire Divide album. The album sold over a million copies and was voted the #1 song of 2017 by Billboard. I constantly heard this song all over the radio and was happy that Ed finally came out with another album after so long.

2.
The best movie of 2017 was thriller movie Get Out directed by Jordan Peele. It was rated a 99/100 by fans and placed at the #1 spot by Rotten Tomatoes, a reputable website used to rate movies. Fans liked this movie for using paranoia and "what ifs" to scare the audience, apposed to constant jump scares and scary costumes.

3.
The biggest news story of 2017 was, in general, Donald Trump's entire presidency. TheHill describes his presidency as, "the Trump presidency in itself is the biggest story of the year". The Trumps keep surprising us all with unexpected takes on political issues and petty tweets. Also, the pretty even split between whether or not the country likes him is causing people to act out to protest or to support the controversial president.

4.
I think that the most important person of the year was Bill Gates because he has dedicated his whole life to giving back to the community. I think that this is important because he is extremely wealthy, but still focuses on helping those who aren't as fortunate. He has also raised his kids to value hard work and dedication, which allows them to create their own futures instead of living in his shadow.

I think hat the biggest sports story would have to be football players taking a kneel to protest hate crimes in America. This was very controversial because while some believed it was disrespectful to kneel during the pledge, others thought it was kind and thoughtful. I believe that this was patriotic of them because they are showing respect for those lost in recent events.

1. Something that happened over winter break that was memorable was hanging out with my friends at Mozart's and playing old board games with them. This was really fun because I love board games and I missed hanging out with all of them.
2. My resolutions for the 2018 year are to be more organized and to really push myself with academics.
3. I am looking forward to a fresh start this year and traveling with my dance team.
