Self-Portrait vs "Selfie"

The difference between a selfie and a self-portrait is a very controversial subject. Some argue that a selfie  should be considered a self-portrait because they both represent the artist, but while a self-portrait is carefully planned and professionally taken, a selfie can be taken anywhere at any time by anybody.

I prefer selfies because you can show someone's personality better through a selfie than a self-portrait. I think this is because self-portraits are usually professionally taken, which can cause the subject to try to act more "professional". This does not accurately display the subject's personality, while a selfie  is less organized and allows them to act more natural and comfortable.

I think that selfies are more important than self-portraits because while self-portraits capture people to make a lasting impact, selfies can be used in everyday life to relive memories and experiences. This would make them easier to use than self-portraits, which I think is important.
