Africa and Abandoned Theme Parks
1. I really liked these pictures because they showed the calm aspects of the animal's lives. All these photos made me feel either happy or calm, which was relaxing. His composition of the photos was really strong and I saw a lot of rules in his pictures. I like how all his pictures were in black and white because it allowed the composition of the photo to not be distracted by bright or overwhelming colors.

3. This picture shows a cheetah sitting on a large rock surrounded by cloudy skies. There is a lot of brush in the background, but the cheetah is the clear subject. I liked this picture because it reminds me of Pride Rock from The Lion King and shows the cheetah looking out on "his land". I also really like how the cheetah is looking the same direction as the rock is facing because it draws your eye to the cheetah.
4. This photo used simplicity, rule of thirds and lines. Simplicity is shown by the lack of objects in the background, besides brush and grass. The camera seems to be off center and slightly down in the bottom right corner, placing the rock in rule of thirds. Lines are shown by the rock's angle facing up towards the cheetah.
5. Nick Brandt uses a Pentax 67 camera with a modified lens. This is important because it allows his pictures to have a soft focus with a slight tilt shift. It also allows him to shoot his signature black and white photos that show the disappearing world of nature in Africa.
6. Nick Brandt takes these pictures to show people the animal's lives' they're affecting in Africa and to give awareness about the danger these animals are in.
Abandoned Theme Parks
1. I would like to go to the New Orleans abandoned Six Flags because I really like Six Flags and think it would be cool to see what it wold look like without all the happy children waiting in lines. It would be weird to see what it could look like abandoned without people filling up the park. I would also like to visit Land of Oz in North Carolina because it would be weird and cool to see a family favorite movie to be abandoned and almost haunted-looking.
2.
3. Some other unusual places to photograph could be abandoned hospitals, old houses, old-fashioned restaurants, old cabins in the woods, or abandoned schools.
4.
5. I think it would be fun to document this location because it shows the normal aspects of life being forgotten about or abandoned. Its weird to think about what the normal every-day places we visit would look like if nobody cared for them anymore. The photos I would expect to take there would be creepy and unsettling.
6. In order to shoot in this location, I would need a camera and closed toed shoes because of all of the debris. I would need to pay for the plane ticket for the location I would be visiting and maybe a fee to enter the building if it's restricted. I would also probably have to bring my own lighting equipment because the buildings might be dark or low lighting.
