Great Black and White Photographers, PART 2

Walker Evans

Walker Evans was born on November 3, 1903 in St. Louis, Missouri. Some of his more important work was featured in American Photographs, Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, and Many are Called.
He attended many places of education, such as Williams College, The Loomis Institute, Mercersburg Academy and Phillips Academy. His photography specialized in street life photography with average looking people, beggars, and police men. His photos were taken in the depression era and gave off a monotone, sad mood. Sadly, Evans passed away on April 10, 1975 in Connecticut in his own home.
